Istanbul - the city on two continents...

''On top of the city''

Falling in love...

...with Istanbul!This city amazes me each day!I cannot get enough of it!
Yesterday from a friend of mine we went around the city - we visited Dolmabahce Palace, Ortakoy and we climbed the Galata Tower!

The 3 hours in Dolmabahce Palace were very exciting in terms of learning new things about the Sultans' life, about the history of the SARAY and...but it was also a bit freezing at the end. The weather in Istanbul is almost spring weather and it is very nice to sit outside near the sea and drink a glass of turkish tea or coffee.

Ortakoy is one of my favourite places in Istanbul. It is crowded but at the same time there I can escape for everything and just enjoy the view of the Bosphorus and the first bridge...It is hard to find a calm and quite place in Istanbul but everyone has his own preferance. I guess Galata Tower is one of those places where you can feel ''on top of the city''...

I am continuously experiencing the mystery of Istanbul....

Snow in Istanbul!

Since the last snowy days 10 days ago I thought it would never snow until next winter. I was wrong...Snow came back to us and Istanbul is cold again!In this weather the only pleasant thing one can do is either be in a warm cottage in the mountains with a glass of wine and good company or go for nargile...
